Distance Learning Classroom Operation
1. Turn on power switch that turns on the TV’s and cameras. There is either a light switch that will turn on the monitors or you will need to manually turn them on.
2. Go to DL Teacher's Station and hit any key on the “silver” keyboard to wake up the DL operating system.
3. The Microtouch monitor will ask you to “Touch to Power On”. Touching the screen will turn on the rest of the room. The room may already be on if a class session has already connected. The scheduling software will automatically fire the system up.

4. Everything in the room is now controlled by the Microtouch screen. You can touch the screen or use the Kensington mouse. (Note: the other monitor, keyboard and mouse on the teacher station are for your computer presentation uses like Power Point, Internet and such).
5. It is a two-step process to send out a video signal. You will find all of the video sources available on the touch screen a little over halfway down the screen, running from left to right. You have access to a student and teacher camera, Document Camera, VCR/DVD player, computer, digital recorder, and incoming video from DL sites.

6. Touching or clicking on any of the video sources puts that video into the preview screen on the Microtouch monitor. To send that video to the receive sites, touch or click the “Main” box in the lower left hand corner of the touch screen.
7. Picture in Picture. You do have the ability to put a picture over your main picture. You control this by clicking on the Outgoing Video source button.

You can also swap the PIP selection back and forth from the main menu by clicking the PIP swap button on the right hand side of the screen.
To turn off the PIP, return to the Outgoing Video screen and click on the video selection highlighted on the PIP source area. When it is unhighlighted the PIP is turned off.
8. As in the old system, you can only control the incoming audio, your outgoing audio is preset with the exception of the computer and DVD/VCR, which has its own audio control. Clicking on any of the Incoming Video sources gives you control over that site’s incoming audio.

The mute button on the upper right hand side of the screen is for muting local microphones only.
Digital Recording
1. You can digitally record two (2) different ways....to the left side of the touchscreen you can use the one touch record (OTR). The OTR records what is in the preview screen. You could use this to record a presentation or lesson from another site by clicking once on the site (Incoming Video) you want to record. It will then be in your preview screen. The one-touch defaults to record for five minutes but if you continue to tap the record button it increases the record duration.

2. Your second option to record is the “Digital VCR.” Digital VCR only records your outgoing video. Press the “digital VCR” button to find the control buttons. Press record and the recording begins. Then just do the presentation just as you normally would switching between video sources…whatever you are sending out will be recorded.
3. When done you must go back to the “digital VCR” screen to stop the recording. To playback, go to “digital VCR player”...select the recording from the internal hard drive file list and hit play. You must press the content button to send the presentation to the projector.
